Trivia

1) ROYAL DORNOCH- Ranked 32nd in the world. (Ranked 4th best course OUTSIDE the US by Golf Digest,2012) Dornoch Golf Club was formed in 1877, became Royal in 1906 courtesy of King Edward VII, and has always been operated as a private members club. Royal Dornoch is known as the gem of the north and one of the world’s great courses. But for its remote location in the Highlands, this outstanding links, originally the work of Old Tom Morris, would have hosted many big championships.

2) Nairn Golf Club – RANKED 66 in the WORLD, Estb in 1887 this is a championship links course on the shores of the Moray Firth.Venue for the Walker cup it is also hosting the CURTIS CUP (Ladies event – USA versus GB+Ireland teams) 2012.

3) BRORA Golf course – A spectacular seaside links course & the favorite course of 5 time British open winner Peter Thomson. This course has plenty of holes playing very close to the sea & at 6110 yards it is still a challenge to play to your handicap.

4) The Boat of Garten golf club has been dubbed “the Gleneagles of the North”. It has been voted Scotland’s No.1 Hidden Gem by readers of Bunkered magazine; in 2010 it was ranked in Scotland’s top 35 courses. The attractive surroundings of the Cairngorm mountains, with such distinctive features as the Lairig Ghru and the northern corries of Braeriach, provide a wonderful backdrop to this unique course.
